Mapping the Movement

The purpose of Palestine Portal is to catalyze and facilitate efforts from all levels of the church movement for a just peace in Israel/Palestine. This section of Palestine Portal – Mapping the Movement –  maps this activity across the U.S. and around the world: denominational movements, national organizations, regional and city coalitions, committees within congregations, and more.

Church-based advocacy and education for a just peace in the Holy Land is thriving in many Christian denominations and ecumenical organizations in the United States. Christians in the U.S. also work closely with important partners, such as Jewish Voice for Peace, American Muslims for Palestine, U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights and others.   And there are many campuses across the U.S. with where students are organizing.

Palestine Portal also provides information on regional and local groups as well as congregations where many activists are working on local campaigns and expanding the reach of national programs.  We hope that “Mapping the Movement” will facilitate a network of such groups and help communities who wish to form such groups to connect with and learn from others.

The Kairos Palestine Document has also inspired a global response to the Palestinian cause,  each organization standing firmly in the contexts of their own local cultural and political struggles.  The Global Network page maps the expanding global community of kairos and allied organizations committed to a just peace in Palestine and by extension, political and economic equality for all peoples.

Palestine Portal would like to receive information of organizations and congregations we may be able to add to our listings; please contact us at: [email protected].
